Cal Poly Beach Volleyball made history on Saturday morning.

The Mustangs advances to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

Next up, the Mustangs will face off against No. 1 seed University of Southern California.

The game starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Gulf Shores, Ala., and will be broadcast on ESPN2.

The Mustangs beat Florida State University 3-1 in their most recent matchup.

Although No. 1 duo Ella Connor and Izzy Martinez could not win their matchup against the Seminoles, No. 2 duo junior Piper Ferch and freshman Erin Inskeep and No. 3 pair Lindsey Sparks and Quinn Perry won in two sets. 

Up 2-1, two courts remained. No. 5 pair juniors Abbey Reinard and Madison Nichols clinched the victory for the Mustangs in a dominant second set, 22-20 and 21-12. 

The Mustangs previously lost to USC 3-2 on March 2 when USC was ranked No. 3.

In that game, the No. 2 pair Ferch and Inskeep won their matchup in the No. 2 spot. The No. 5 pair Abbey Reinard and Madison Nichols also won their matchup.
