A water geyser erupts after a semi-truck hits it. Mustang News | Josie Wall

A semi-truck clipped a curb and a fire hydrant on California Boulevard just after 1 p.m. on Thursday, resulting in a large jet of pressurized water from the water main.

The driver of the truck was not injured after taking the corner of Taft and California too close, with the trailer of the truck striking the hydrant, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department (SLOPD).

The SLO Fire Department is on the scene, working with the SLO Public Works Department to fix the break in the water main, according to SLOPD.

This is a developing story, Mustang News will update as more information becomes available.
