Cal Poly Men’s Basketball has added another signee to their recruiting class.

The Mustangs signed incoming sophomore Guzmán Vasilić to the 2024-2025 team on May 3, according to social media and basketball recruitment tracker website Verbal Commits.

Vasilić previously played at Division II Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Vasilić didn’t see the floor last season but previously played for the NBA Academy Latin America.

Internationally, Vasilić plays for the country of Uruguay. In the 2022 U18 South American, he averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

Standing 6 foot 5, Vasilić fits into a similar archetype as other incoming guards Cayden Ward and Peter Bandelji. He’s shown the ability to handle the ball in pick-and-roll situations but also can play off the ball as a shooter and attack closeouts.

Vasilić is the second international player in head coach Mike DeGeorge first recruiting class.
