Cal Poly will receive a recently announced $20 million gift from Lynda and Stewart Resnick to fund a career services hub for first-generation students, according to a university news release.
According to the release, the new “25,000 square-foot Lynda and Stewart Resnick Student Success Center will feature a professional development center for career services, programs that support Cal Poly’s growing numbers of first-generation students, and student diversity and belonging cultural centers.”
The Resnicks own and operate The Wonderful Company, which includes brands such as Wonderful Pistachios and Almonds and FIJI Water, according to their website.
The Resnicks have previously donated to Cal Poly with the College Success Scholar Program and other universities including Caltech, UC Davis and Fresno State, according to the release.
“We have no further details to provide at this time, but additional information about the gift and the project will be shared in the near future,” Assistant Vice President of Communications and Media Relations Matt Lazier wrote in an email to Mustang News.
