On a warm, Saturday evening in Sept. 2023, then-freshman Taylor Smith took in the energy of 1,000 pairs of feet rumbling the metal bleachers of the Mustang Memorial Field student section for the 2023 Homecoming football game against UC Davis.

Cal Poly Esports to host Grand Finals of SLO Valorant Champions Tour
According to a discord post detailing the regular season, the grand finals are the culmination of a six week season where ten teams composed of 50 Cal Poly students and alumni faced off playing weekly matches for circuit points with the end goal of being seeded into the playoffs.

Cal Poly’s Internationalization Symposium hosts speaker Dr. Anu Taranath
The Cal Poly International Center (CPIC) is gearing up for the return of the Internationalization Symposium on May 15 and 16. This year, the event features Dr. Anu Taranath, speaker and author of “Beyond Guilt Trips: Mindful Travel in an Unequal World.” According to a CPIC event announcement, Dr. Anu will deliver a keynote presentation on May 15 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the PAC Pavilion, delving into the intersections of travel, equity and social change. Wednesday’s presentation is open to students, staff, faculty and the broader community and will be followed by a book signing.
